At The Lesson
Lesson time should not be used to find music or other materials. It is the student's responsibility to have their music
organized and ready when I arrive.
Students must
follow all of the instructions that are given and behave in a way that enhances musical progress and learning.
Students should not entertain friends, answer doorbells or telephones
while a lesson is in session.
In the best interest
of everyone involved, an adult needs to be present in the home whenever a lesson is given.
Summer Lessons
Lessons will be offered to anyone who would like to study with me during the summer.
Regarding Practicing
In order to make steady progress, I expect daily practice from each student who chooses to study with me. As students
progress, practice time needs to increase.
Students
under the age of eight require daily adult supervision to help them practice.
It is necessary to have enough light available wherever practice occurs. I also recommend
complete vision and hearing examinations.
Missed
Lessons & Make Ups
Missed lessons are
damaging to a student's progress, and they deprive me of a necessary income. Commitment to this activity must be given
priority during the scheduled time. I will try to make up missed lessons that can not be avoided.
If I have to miss a lesson, I will try to find an alternative time or else I will give
full credit for the lesson.
If you are going to
miss a lesson, you must notify me at least 24 hours in advance unless you are sick. Students will not receive a make-up lesson,
but they will be charged, without this advanced notification.

Traveling To
Your Home
Please allow a 20 minute variance
between the scheduled time of a lesson and the time that I may arrive. I will notify you if I will be more than 20 minutes
late.
I will wait 20 minutes beyond the scheduled
time of a lesson. After that, I will leave if you are not there.
Recitals & Awards
The spring
piano recital will be held in June at The First Lutheran Church in Montclair. All students are encouraged to participate.
Friends and family members are also invited to attend.
Music is usually memorized, but exceptions can be made.
Every student should wear clothes that enhance their music presentation.
Semi-formal but comfortable attire is appropriate.
Trophies
will be awarded to every student at the recital for their commitment towards developing their piano skills throughout the
year.
The recital is optional, but the students
who participate in it will gain valuable experience that will significantly enhance their music education.
